Sooo…about this pup self-care thing. It became a lot easier once I learned to keep it simple.
I mean, really. Have you walked down a pup self-care aisle lately? How many all-natural, oxygen-infused, sensitive skin, extra-hydrate, soft and silky dog moisturizers do they actually make these days?
As a pup business owner, I live for #PupSelfCareSundays. It’s the one day a week where I give myself a free pass from all things work related.
Any pup business owner will tell you that pup business ownership is a unique journey. One day you’re reveling in your own pup creative genius and the next day you’re wondering why you even invested this “crazy idea” in the first place.
Believe me. No matter what mood I’m in, #PupSelfCareSundays is definitely worth every bit of the investment. Especially, if the return results in complete avoidance of a case of the “SMONDAYS,” which is essentially “the moment when Sunday stops feeling like Sunday and the anxiety of Monday kicks in.”
However, the last thing I want to do on any given #PupSelfCareSunday is wander aimlessly through the pup spa and massage aisle at Tail-get, trying to choose between the regular coconut bubble bath and for two nudges more the oxygen-infused coconut bubble bath. Especially since my human is off brunching with her friends, I have the house completely to myself.
While I’ve learned that #PupSelfCareSundays are a requirement for me, I’ve also learned that simplicity is the key. All the pup self-care essentials I need are (and will always be) right in front of me.
All “How to…” articles, meditation bark-firmations suggestions and latest doga classes aside, I have to do what works for me. So, I keep it creative and stick to what brings me joy. Actually…
My favorite #PupSelfCareSunday routine involves the one essential that never fails me. Pupcakes.
There’s nothing like a relaxing day in my cozy pajamas, sitting on my couch wrapped in my favorite blanket while eating pupcakes and binge watching my favorite movies.
The bonus. After baking these pupcakes in the oven, my home has the most blissfully, nostalgic, warm and cozy aroma. The kind of aroma that eases all of your worries and fills the belly. There’s no pup essential oil that could even remotely do that.
So, I like to think of it as Pupcake Aroma Therapy. It relaxes the mind and warms the soul. Because, come on, what pup wouldn’t be happy and relaxed with a plate of pupcakes to nosh on.
Today, I’m sharing my favorite Pupcake Aroma Therapy recipes that are guaranteed to give you that warm fuzzy feeling all winter long.
Peppermint Peanut Butter Pupcakes
Pup business ownership always starts with a “crazy idea.” The trick is figuring out a solution to bring that “crazy idea” to life. So, my little pup brain is always thinking of creative ways to make my “crazy idea” work. Sometimes, however, my attention span is not as long as it needs to be. These Peppermint Patty Pupcakes are my go to for those moments when I need to get back on track and get focused as I’m brainstorming a solution.
Sugar Snap Pupcakes
Any pup business owner juggle is real. Not only are you trying to build a pup business, but you’re also taking care of your human and trying to maintain a social life. The juggle can get a bit draining when you have those deadlines to meet. Especially, if you’re up late at night trying to get things done as your human sleeps soundly in her bed. These Sugar Snap Pupcakes are my go-to whenever I need to maintain my cool and have to level up on my productivity.
Hot Carob Pupcakes
The pup business ownership journey is hard, but it’s so worth it. It’s absolutely rewarding to see my “crazy ideas” come to life. These Hot Carob Pupcakes are my go to whenever I want to celebrate those wins. They’re the perfect treat to revel in your progress and your growth.
And, what’s a #PupSelfCareSunday without some creative ideas to spend on them. I’d also love to really hear from you.
