In 2016, Sandra Countley baked her first pupcake for her dog, Sugar. Pupcakes instantly became their favorite love language, and the inspiration behind Pupcake Sugar.
Pupcake Sugar is a space to start from scratch and create your own recipes. We use pupcakes to spark conversations, express love, and stretch outside our comfort zones.
Pupcake Sugar centers around the stories of the illustrated toy poodle, Sugar, and her journey through “pupcakepreneurship.” Inspired by Sandra’s dog, Sugar shares her stories about life, love, and her favorite pupcake recipes.
In essence, we’re doing more than giving you a seat at our kitchen table. We’re giving you the ingredients to create your own.

Starting from scratch is an experience. At least that’s how I felt when I was trying to figure out my next move after getting laid off from a job I didn’t even like. I needed a fresh start, and a way to self-love myself through all those unsure moments. So, I used the ingredients right in front of me. My kitchen. My pen. And, my dog, Sugar. I baked my first pupcake from a random recipe I found on the internet, and wrote about Sugar’s experience with it.
I never imagined baking that pupcake recipe would grow into Pupcake Sugar. That’s the funny thing about trying something new. You never know where it’ll take you. And, I’m so happy that it led me here. A place to create my own recipes. Feel free to get cozy and turn your pupcakes into some amazing stories.

In my eyes, Sugar’s a character. I find her daily shenanigans hilarious. So, I thought, “Why not write about her shenanigans?” Next thing I knew, Sugar was a character. Sugar’s character is a pupcakepreneur that owns and operates her own pupcakery called Pupcake Sugar. Sugar shares her stories of life, love, and favorite pupcake recipes.
