Meet Sugar

My name is Sugar.

I’m a toy poodle and “pupcakepreneur” who loves to bake pupcakes. Even as a puppy the kitchen was my space to figure out my shift. I still have the “Easy Pupcake Oven” my mom gave me for Christmas when I was a puppy.

So, when I got laid off from my job at BarkScent Media, I decided it was finally time to go after my dream. I turned my love of baking pupcakes into a business, Pupcake Sugar.

My Grandpup gave me…

The first dollar towards my dream.  Literally.  One dollar.  My mom gave me the tools and encouragement to share my gifts with the world.  She also taught me to live in the moment and, no matter what, you can always come back to the kitchen table.  My pop taught me to always have a plan because, well, shift happens.

When I got laid off, I spent days; nights; weeks; months at my kitchen table trying to work out a plan. Not to mention, how I was going to get the dough to pay for it. Starting from scratch is humbling. The more I worked, the more I realized I had everything I needed right in front of me.

Pupcake Sugar is…

My bakery.  Or what I like to call my “pupcakery.”  Owning my own pupcakery is my dream.  Not just because I get a chance to do what I love—bake pupcakes and other cool dog treats.  But it also gives me a chance to help dogs enjoy the little moments even as we’re working out our shift.
