5 Ways To Decorate Your Pupcakes

decorating pupcakes

There are a million and one ways to decorate your pupcakes.  So, let’s start with 5 simple ones.

PIPE THE FROSTING

Some pups prefer to spread frosting on their pupcakes.  And, that’s cool.  However, piping your frosting makes it a little more fun.  There are several piping tips you can use to help with the style.  So, whether you choose to swirl or rosette.  Pom-Pom or Ruffle.  Use your frosting to add a little extra flare to your pupcake.

ADD SPRINKLES

Chopped vegetables and fruit go a long way in the pupcake world.  They’re almost like the perfect accessory. After  I’ve frosted my pupcakes, I always sprinkle finely chopped vegetables and fruit over them.  They definitely give that nice pop of color I’m looking for, especially when I’m taking pictures.

EMBRACE THE DRIZZLE

Drizzling a nice glazed frosting on pupcakes is a simple go to when you’re in a rush.  I use a glazed drizzle for pupcake muffins and mini bundt pupcakes.  Drizzling is pretty easy.  You can use a regular tablespoon, small frosting pipe tip, or even cut the tip off a plastic sandwich bag.  A little drizzle goes a long way.

MAKE A FRUIT TOPPER

Sometimes finely chopped vegetables and fruits aren’t the best way to go.  Especially, for those fruits that hold a lot of water.  But adding one piece of fruit or vegetable to the top of your pupcake can do the trick.  My favorite veggie topping is actually zucchini slices because they’re quick, easy, and always add a nice pop of color.  A piece of freeze-dried fruit is also a good option here.

THINK PAPER

When all else fails.  Your pupcake baking liners are always a good start.  There are several colors and designs to choose from, which make them a great way to decorate your pupcakes anytime.

At Pupcake Sugar, we’re all about turning pupcakes into an experience.  And, decorating your pupcakes is no different.  Think of it as another form of pupcake self-care.

Honestly, decorating pupcakes is one my favorite parts of the baking process.  It’s when creativity really gets to come into play.  Baking pupcakes is a feeling.  So, decorating pupcakes is a great way to express those feelings.  It’s another way to put your own twist on a pupcake recipe and make it your own.
