Monthly Dish: Cinnamon Oatmeal Pupcakes

Cinnamon Oatmeal Pupcakes

This month we’re focusing on our well-being by working smart.  This time of year, I try to be more intentional by focusing on working smarter, not harder.  Like delegating some responsibilities, automating certain processes, utilizing available resources, and resting when I need to.

One of my favorite ways to rest and practice mindfulness is baking.  Which brings me to this month’s recipe, Cinnamon Oatmeal Pupcakes, straight from our eBook, Sugar’s Dish: My Start from Scratch Story & 10 “Easy As Pupcake” Recipes to Try at Home.

ABOUT THE CINNAMON OATMEAL PUPCAKES

This cinnamon oatmeal peanut butter combination is amazing for the holiday season.  According to PetMD, cinnamon baked to dog treats in small amounts can have health benefits.  It’s high in antioxidants, can reduce inflammation, promotes heart health, and may relieve digestive discomfort.  Plain cooked oatmeal can also be a great addition to your dog’s diet.  It’s rich in fiber, vitamins, and minerals, such as iron, zinc, and vitamin B.  Peanut butter is a common favorite treat for dogs.  According to Wag, peanut butter is high in fiber, protein, and fatty acids.  It also contains magnesium, which can help with your dog’s energy levels.

WHEN TO BAKE THESE CINNAMON OATMEAL PUPCAKES

This pupcake recipe is great for dog moms who love to bake to relax.  The ingredients are simple, yet impactful.  The cinnamon aroma smells amazing, which is great for those dogs that love to sniff around and can also create a nostalgic aroma for the dog mom baking the treats. Cinnamon Oatmeal Pupcakes are also great for spending quality time during a dog mom and me date night in.  Especially, if you decide to do your own indoor “sniffari.”

BAKING BARKFIRMATION & WORKING SMART

“Take small bites.”  Life can get complicated sometimes.  So often we focus on the big picture that we forget about the small steps we need to take to get there.  Especially, when we think about our finances and goals.  Small steps in the journey to reach our goals always lead us in the right direction.  As you’re working towards your goals remember to take it one step at a time.  Those small steps in the journey are just as beautiful as reaching the goal.  Celebrate them.

BEFORE YOU GET STARTED

I started Pupcake Sugar when I was laid off and it helped me rediscover my own creative talents.  Plus, I could save a little money on store bought treats I’d been buying for Sugar too.  Hence, how I turned Sugar’s daily shenanigans into a brand.  I created an illustrated character inspired by her and her love of pupcakes.  Sugar’s character is a “pupcakepreneur” that owns and operates her own pupcakery called Pupcake Sugar.

Sugar shares her stories of life, love, and favorite pupcake recipes.  We invite you to her world.  Sign up for the Pupcake Sugar mailing list to get Sugar’s favorite birthday pupcake recipe to try at home with your dog.  Also, check out the Shop page for more of Sugar’s pupcake recipes and the stories that inspired them.

As with any dog treat, these Cinnamon Oatmeal Pupcakes should be given to your dog in moderation.  They should not replace or serve as your dog’s primary diet.  Please consult with your veterinarian on your dog’s diet.
