Never underestimate the power of a daydream.
A daydream during a meeting that could’ve been an email today, could be your reality tomorrow. That’s the power of a “crazy idea” turned daydream. You never know where it might lead you if you have the courage to follow it.
Like the time my “crazy idea” landed me right in the middle of a shower. No. I’m not barking about a morning shower or even April showers. I’m barking about a business shower.
A business shower is an event that celebrates the start of a new business. Everyone comes together to congratulate you on your new journey and offer resources for your new business. I attended one a few years back.
And, I had such a great time that the experience stuck in my mind. I knew it was only a matter of time before I did a business shower for myself. So, when I finally had a plan together for my “crazy idea” turned daydream of Pupcake Sugar, I knew that a business shower was the perfect way to make my debut.
Business showers are a little different than the wedding showers we’re used to. Turning toilet paper into a dress wouldn’t be an activity I’d choose. However, if you’re new business venture is all about toilet paper dresses, scratch that statement altogether and do you boo.
So, my first step was to come up with a theme. I wanted a theme that was going to promote what Pupcake Sugar is all about. Go after your “crazy idea.” Pupcakes are more than a pup’s favorite treat, they’re a vibe. And, Self-Care Sunday is a barking lifestyle, live it. In the words of Michelle Obama…
We need to do a better job of putting ourselves higher on our own ‘to do’ list.
Which, is exactly why I still make Self-Care Sunday a priority. One Sunday, my BFF Ginger was sharing how excited she was about her new aromatherapy candles. She’s always been the pup in the group who’s all about fragrant scents. As she explained each candle scent and when to use it, the idea for my business shower theme hit me. PUPCAKE AROMATHERAPY.
Pupcake Aromatherapy is using the fragrance from freshly baked pupcakes to relax and comfort the mind, body and soul. I knew it was the perfect way to launch Pupcake Sugar, share some of my amazing pupcakes and most importantly, showcase what this “crazy idea” of mind was all about. I’d also love to hear from you.
