It started off like a normal evening walk.
Mom walked in the door and dropped her shoulder bag on the dining room table. She changed from her work clothes to her “walk Sugar” clothes and put her hair up to protect it from the heat. Mom sat on the couch and I hopped into her lap so she could put on my leash.
We headed out the door and made our way down the steps. I look forward to our evening walks. Since I’m usually home by myself all day, these walks give me a chance to be with Mom and get some fresh air and exercise. However, today felt a little different.
As Mom and I got halfway through our walk, I stopped to sniff the grass. And, there it was. A big pile of old carpets sitting there.
All Mom saw was a pile of old carpets taking up space. Typical human behavior. But, I saw (or shall I say sniffed) so much more.
I sensed the opportunity of a lifetime.
I sensed the chance to finally catch a squirrel or two. So, I immediately started to bark to get them to come from underneath those old carpets. Mom thought my barking was nonsense. She tried to get me to calm down because she couldn’t see what I saw. However, I decided to trust my gut.
After about 30 seconds, two squirrels finally came darting out from beneath the carpets. And, I would’ve caught them too if it wasn’t for the fact that I was hooked to my leash. It’s ok, I’ll catch them next time.
There are 3 things I listen to without question. My ears. My nose. And, my gut. Share on XThey are my intuition and always lead me in the right direction.
We all have our own personal intuition. And, you know what? It can’t be learned in a book or a training class. I don’t care what they tell you. We’re all (pups and humans alike) born with it.
Our intuitions are the feeling we get when we know we should try something we’ve never done. They’re our first response to a situation that makes us feel a little uncomfortable. Our intuitions can even tell us that we’re headed in the right direction. Intuition is with us every day.
Although we’re all born with our own personal intuition, we have to learn to not only listen to it but to also trust it. Sometimes we ignore our own feelings because we get lost in what others think. And as most of us know, that can come back to bite us in the butt.
Our intuition is actually our mental compass that tells us “yes” when others may say “no.” And once we learn to trust it, we can stay true to who we are and take advantage of the opportunities that life has to offer. That’s why…
Sugar’s Sweet Cake Pupcakes are dedicated to trusting our intuition and going with our gut.
And of course, we believe that every pupcake has a love story. So, while your favorite pup is PUPPY LOVIN’ on these pupcakes, we’d love to hear from you.
