3 Fruits Every Beginning Pupcake Baker Should Have in Their Fridge

When I was a new pupcake baker, I had no clue what to choose for my Pupcake Sugar menu.  You should’ve seen me roaming up and down the aisles in the grocery store trying to create a recipe in my head.  Not to mention the countless number of hours I spent on “Moogle” and Pup-trest trying to get some pupcake inspiration.

But, I’ll let you in on a little secret.

Baking pupcakes is all about mixing and matching ingredients to come up with your favorite flavors.  That’s it.  There are the standard ingredients you’ll have with almost every pupcakes.  Flour.  Baking powder.  Olive oil.  The rest is up to your imagination and your taste buds. But after years of pupcakepreneuring, I learned…

There are 3 fruits that every new pupcake baker should have in her fridge.

BLUEBERRIES

Blueberries store pretty easily.  You can also create several pupcake recipes from one container of blueberries.  I even store my blueberries in the freezer to help them last longer.  Blueberries are one of my favorite ingredients for pupcake photography because they are the perfect accent color.  Especially, if you love purple.

BANANAS

Bananas are a great natural sweetener for your pupcakes.  Bananas blend easily to make a purée, which make it a good ingredient for pupcake batter.  Also, banana purée freezes well for those hot days when you’d like some ice cream for those pupcakes.

APPLE (OR APPLESAUCE)

Apples make a great snack.  So, why not add them to your pupcake?  Most of the time, I use applesauce because it has a longer storage life.  Applesauce is also great substitute when you don’t want to use yogurt or milk products.  In a pinch, you can always create a pupcake quickly, like these Kris Kross Applesauce Pupcakes.

Ok.  Now, it’s your turn to dish.

Which one of these fruit flavors are you ready to start with first?

Please share in the box below.  And, I’d love to see how your pupcakes turned out.  Share your pupcakes on Instagram and tag @pupcakesugar.
