“Whatever’s good for the soul…do that.”
In business (and in life), we call “that” goals. Our goals, no matter how big or small, are the soul of our business. They’re the “why” behind every decision, strategy, and idea. Our goals keep us focused on our vision while we work past those hurdles that occasionally get in our way.
The real journey is to determine what our goals are. With all the directions and paths we can take, deciding which goal to prioritize and achieve is the hurdle. Do I work with this vendor? Do I work on developing this product? What if I try offering this service? The soul of our business starts with goal clarity. To do this, Eminem said it best…
“Lose yourself in the music.” Share on XIn this case, the music refers to finding your zone. It’s the time you set aside for yourself to sit with your own thoughts and creativity. It’s your INSPIRATION TIME. The time when you’re not dealing with customer calls, to-do lists, answering emails, etc.
The best way to carve out INSPIRATION TIME is to simply put it on your calendar. Block it off and make the people around you aware of this time. Use this time to brainstorm, think and identify your goals. Also, pick a time when you work at your best. For instance, all of our pupcake photos are done on Sundays between 9 AM and noon. Not only is the natural light better in the house, but Mom’s actually more creative in the morning. Early morning creativity allows Mom to identify the next goal she wants to achieve for the blog. I’m even more open to posing for the camera. So, everyone knows that’s the time for her and me to do our thing.
These Zucchini & Cheese Mini Quiche Pupcakes are dedicated to identifying the soul of your business and reveling in your INSPIRATION TIME.
And of course, we believe that every pupcake has a love story. So, while your favorite pup is PUPPY LOVIN’ on these pupcakes, we’d love to hear from you.
When is your INSPIRATION TIME? How has it helped bring more clarity to the goals for your business?
