The One Thing That Always Leads To A Great Story

A little curiosity always leads to a great story.

At least that’s how I see it. Anytime I’ve been just a little curious, I end up with a story to tell. Short stories. Long stories. Funny stories. Scary stories. Even, puppy love stories.

In my eyes, curiosity is the beginning of the road we travel as we build our life stories. Many times, there’s even a lesson attached. For instance…

When I was a few months old, I used to admire the bed in my Mom’s room. It was absolutely huge and had pillows that looked as soft as the clouds in the sky. Everything in me wanted to jump up and roll around in that big bed. However, there was one problem. The bed was too high, and my little legs wouldn’t let me leap that far.

I spent weeks stretching, strategizing, and attempting several leaps to one day hopefully land in the bed I was admiring. My curiosity about that bed’s comfort level was killing me.

One night, while Mom was sound asleep, I decided to make another attempt. So, I took a deep breath, took a couple of steps back, and leaped into the air. All that hard work and endless curiosity paid off. Before I knew it, I had landed right at the foot of the bed.

After I landed, there was no way I was going to jump back down. There are only so many leaps I can do at one time. I decided to snuggle up right next to Mom and go to sleep. It seemed like the perfect idea at the time. However, after a few minutes Mom accidentally rolled over right on top of me.

I felt smothered and scared at the same time. So, I drummed up enough energy to give one loud scream, which made Mom jump up to comfort me. Lesson learned. I should probably warn Mom that I’m going to lay next to her. That way I won’t get squished.

Curiosity is the gateway to stories.

And, stories have always made the best lessons. Bob Dickman stated…

“If you don’t feel it, you won’t remember it.” Share on X

That’s why storytelling is so impactful. Storytelling evokes feeling and emotion. It has the power to spark curiosity in anyone. Storytelling can even make the most boring information come alive in our hearts.

Stories make us all relatable to each other. They give us the power to see ourselves in each other and inspire imagination. We get to pass on our legacies and share wisdom through our experiences. So…

These Banana Mini Bundt Cake Pupcakes are dedicated to curiosity and all of the wonderful stories that come from it.
