Getting the house cleaned and organized before New Year’s is really important to us. Between the day after Christmas and 11:59 PM on New Year’s Eve, there’s only one motto that counts…
“If it doesn’t matter, get rid of it.”
My mom spends the few days between Christmas and New Year’s washing, folding, shredding, tossing, and organizing. It’s amazing how much “stuff” you can accumulate in just 1 year. I guess all this cleaning does make sense when you think about it.
How can you make room for the awesome toys you’re going to get in the New Year, if you hold on to the ones that aren’t even fun to play with anymore?
The last thing in my mom’s cleaning routine is vacuuming. It’s my favorite part because I can finally get in on the cleaning action. As soon as she hits the red button on the vacuum and puts that attachment on the hose, I go to work. While some dogs love to chase their tail, I love to chase the vacuum cleaner hose. There’s nothing more thrilling than trying to catch something before it’s sucked up into the roaring black hole.
These Honey Bun Pupcakes With Cinnamon Cream Cheese Frosting are the perfect end to an awesome day of chasing the vacuum.
They’re even more enjoyable to eat knowing that all of the “stuff that didn’t matter” is gone for good.
Try them and let us know what you think. We believe that every pupcake has a story and one perfect for occasion. So, we’d love to hear your pupcake story…
What new toys are you excited about getting this year? What “stuff” did you get rid of to make room for them?

For Honey Bun Pupcakes
- Preheat oven to 350°
- In large bowl combine flour and baking powder. Set aside.
- In a small bowl add water, olive oil, and egg. Add to large bowl with dry ingredients and stir until you have soft dough.
- On a lightly floured surface, roll or pat dough into a rectangle (approximately 8 x 14 inches)
- Drizzle honey and sprinkle cinnamon onto flat dough.
- Roll dough starting at a long edge (jelly-role style) and pinch the edge to seal.
- Using a sharp serrated knife, slice rolled dough into half-inch thick slices. Place each slice into a 1.75” inch mini-muffin pan and bake for 15 minutes. Pupcakes are finished when they are springy to the touch.
