“What’s the biggest issue facing the pup community?”
I’ve heard that question a thousand times. And, honestly, I don’t think there will ever be a definitive answer to that question. The “pup community” is full of millions of beautiful pups that are all unique in their own way.
We all come from different homes, have had completely different pup experiences and strive to achieve different goals and pup aspirations. That’s the beauty of us. You’ll never be able to limit who we are to one generalized category.
So, when I started my journey as a pup business owner, I knew that I wanted to give back to the community and help those pups that gave so lovingly to me. In fact, Pupcake Sugar was started to give pups a way to practice self-care. However, as my pup business grew, I knew I wanted to do more.
I started to ask myself, “how can I give back to my community?”
The pups I see every day. The pups I know, love and adore. Most importantly, the community of pups that have always supported me and my “crazy ideas.” Also, my goal was to not just give back, but to also pay it forward.
And, in my pup mind, giving is definitely contagious. So, if I give to one pup, then that pup will more than likely pass it on. In the words of Winston Churchill…
We make a living by what we get, but we make a life by what we give.
So, I decided to host a Pupcake Sugar think tank with local pup community leaders, other pup business owners and pups that lived in the community. The strategy was simple. We as a group would interview pups in the community to find out what their biggest concerns were within our pup community.
We spent weeks talking with pups and compiling their feedback. We got a variety of concerns that ranged from too much barking at night to not enough places for pups to relax outside of the house. After several pup brainstorming sessions, we all noticed that one concern seemed to stand out above them all.
Most of the pups were looking for ways to make some extra nudges to either help with their living expenses or help them afford a few additional luxuries. And since a pup’s time is always limited to when their human isn’t home, they needed something that didn’t interfere with their pup daily schedule.
Now that, I can help with. After a few more pup brainstorming sessions, I decided to launch Pupcake Hustle. Pupcake Hustle would be a free series of workshops offered to the community that would expose pups to different ways to start a side hustle with pupcakes.
During the Pupcake Hustle series, I’d share a simple pupcake recipe for pups to make themselves. The series would also include information on branding, financing your side hustle and marketing.
The series of Pupcake Hustle workshops would host different pup business owners in the community that would share information about their pup businesses and how they got started. Sometimes we just need to be in an environment of creativity in order to spark an idea of what we can do for ourselves.
Pupcake Hustle became my way to give back. A way for me to empower pups to increase their nudges, grow their financial portfolios and empower them to use their creativity to make a living. And, economic empowerment is always a great way to give back.
So, these Apple Pupcakes With Peanut Butter Frosting are dedicated to giving back and paying it forward.
And of course, we believe that every pupcake has a love story. So, while your favorite pup is PUPPY LOVIN’ on these pupcakes, we’d love to hear from you.
