Every week there seems to be some new way to invest. A new trend to make money. A story on “how (insert some millionaire human’s name here) earned her net worth.”
Honestly, investment is like technology. Some humans get in at the ground floor. Some humans jump on the bandwagon after they hear how great it worked out for someone else. And, some humans never catch on because they’re comfortable with only having what they need.
I, however, live in a world where industry trends and hot new investment ideas simply aren’t important. I’ve never heard of a dog “getting rich” due to a wise investment she made. I’ve also never heard of dog generational wealth or a dog pay gap.
In my world, there’s only one investment that matters…MYSELF.
Investing in yourself is more than spending money. It’s even more than simply believing that you can achieve whatever you put your mind to.
Investing in yourself is taking the time to research and build your knowledge base. It’s learning from one experience to the next. It’s giving yourself permission to take a break when you get a bit overwhelmed. It’s even releasing the guilt of feeling the way you feel. Most importantly…
Investing in yourself is learning to have fun being yourself. Share on XThink about any human you define as “successful.” Instead of paying attention to the “latest” investment trend, she more than likely spent years cultivating her talents and investing in herself even when she wasn’t sure of the next step. She didn’t focus on catching up to what the world was doing, the world ultimately caught up to her.
Investing in yourself will lead you down the path to success every time. It’s up to us to always figure out new ways to do so.
So, I know you’re probably wondering. How does a dog actually invest in herself? Simple. I only do things that bring me joy. Whether it’s playing with my favorite toy, learning how to sneak down the steps without anyone noticing me, or trying figuring out how I can persuade Mom to give me a treat, if it doesn’t bring me joy I’m not doing it.
Joy opens up your heart and mind to the beauty of the world around you. That joy sparks a willingness to learn and cultivate your talents. It gives you a safe place to be you, which ultimately gives you the confidence to invest in yourself and courage to go after your dreams. In a world that tells you to act, look and be a certain way, joy helps you block out the noise and focus on being beautifully you.

Ingredients
Oatmeal Peanut Butter Carob Chip Triangle Pupcakes
- ½ Cup Brown Rice Flour
- 1 Teaspoon Baking Powder
- ½ Cup Quaker Oats
- 2 Tablespoons Olive Oil
- ⅓ Cup Plain Yogurt
- 1 Tablespoon Pure Honey
- 1 Tablespoon Creamy Peanut Butter (unsalted with no added sugars)
- 1 Egg
- ¼ Cup Carob Chips
Honey Glazed Icing (Optional)
- ¼ Cup Plain Yogurt
- 1 Tablespoon Pure Honey
Instructions
Yields: 4 – 6 Oatmeal Peanut Butter Carob Chip Triangle Pupcakes (16 – 24 Small Pupcake Triangles)
For Oatmeal Peanut Butter Carob Chip Triangle Pupcakes
- Preheat oven to 350° F.
- In small bowl mix together, flour and baking powder. Set aside.
- In a large mixing bowl add olive oil, yogurt, honey, peanut butter, and egg. Beat on medium speed until combined.
- Add dry ingredients into the mixture and blend until mixed.
- Stir in carob chips.
- Fill each brownie pan with pupcake mixture. I used a 2.5-inch by 1.5-inch Wilton 12-Cavity Brownie Bar Pan. Bake for 20 – 22 minutes. Pupcakes are done when you can stick a toothpick into the cake and it comes out clean. Remove from pan and cool on wire rack.
- Cut each brownie square diagonally into 4 smaller triangle pieces.
- Pipe, drizzle, or spread honey glazed icing onto the triangle pupcakes (optional).
For Honey Glazed Icing (Optional)
- In small mixing bowl beat yogurt and honey together on medium speed.
- Pipe, drizzle, or spread honey glazed icing onto the triangle pupcakes.
