The 4 Essentials to Freezing Your Pupcakes

The 4 essentials to freezing your pupcakes and homemade dog treats

Pup business ownership takes on many different forms.  There’s no right or wrong path in this journey.  You just take the road that’s best for you.

In this journey, I’ve definitely learned a lot about myself.  I’ve also learned a lot about the real meaning of pup-dulting.  And, believe me.  There are days I absolutely wish it wasn’t a part of my bark-abulary.  However, there are three major pup-dulting lessons that will always stick with me.

  1. You can do anything, but not everything,
  2. Write down all of your “crazy ideas, and, most importantly…

Always have a pupcake in the freezer.

You just never know when you’ll actually need one.  So, it’s best to always keep a few pupcakes handy.

I mean, really.  What else am I going to snack on late at night while working on my “crazy idea?”  What will I celebrate with when I hit a new milestone or achieve a new best?  And, what will I treat myself with when I need a #PupSelfCareSunday to relax and chill?

There’s no secret that pupcakes are my absolute passion.  Pupcake Sugar has given me the chance to meet so many pups willing to share their pup-tales over pupcakes.  My life is wealthier because of their stories.

However, I tell pups all the time.  “If you’re going to take your pupcakes to go, make sure you keep them in the freezer.”

First, you’re pupcakes will last longer.  You won’t have to worry about them getting stale or losing their flavor.  Secondly, it’s the best place to hide them from your humans.  Pupcake Sugar pupcakes are made with love for pups everywhere.  However, they look so good that any human would be tempted to try one.

And, the last thing any pup wants is to watch in disappointment while their human devours their favorite pupcake flavor.  Rude!  Or, shall I say “Ruff!”  In fact, the only reason I follow my human into the kitchen is to distract her from finding and eating my pupcakes.

A little pup tip.  The best place to hide these pupcakes is actually behind the ice cream.  Your human will get so side tracked that they’ll never even see the pupcake.  That way, if you’re looking for a mid-night snack you’ll know where to find it.

However, freezing pupcakes is an art.  You can’t just toss your box of Pupcake Sugar pupcakes into the freezer like that dog food you refuse to eat.  There are some Pupcake Freezer Essentials that’ll help you savor the flavor of the Pupcake Sugar experience.

PUT IT ON WAX

No.  I’m not talking about that vintage vinyl that your grand-pups used to bark and wag their tail to.  I’m talking about wax paper.  You definitely don’t want your human to find out that you sneak out to Pupcake Sugar when they’re not looking.  So, you gotta get rid of the evidence.  So, remove those pupcakes from the Pupcake Sugar box and wrap them in wax paper.  Wrap your pupcakes in sets of 3 or 4.  Wrapping them in wax paper not only makes it easier for you to store them in the freezer, but it also gets rid of any evidence that you were gone in the first place.

SECURE THE BAG

Those freezer bags your human keeps in the cabinet, use them.  After you wrap your pupcakes in wax paper, place them into the freezer bags.  These freezer bags will keep your pupcakes fresher and help them blend a little easier with all the other food in the freezer.  Plus, it won’t take up a lot of space,  and you lessen the risk of your human discovering your pupcakes.  Can you imagine if your human found these Triple Berry Pupcakes sitting in the freezer?  They’d definitely eat them.

ADD A LABEL

Any pup (or human) knows that food can get lost in the freezer.  And, the longer food sits in the freezer, the harder it is to identify it.  So, label you bag of pupcakes with a phrase, name or other mark so that you know what it is.  You don’t want your human to catch you rummaging through the freezer at night while you’re trying to find your pupcakes.  It may be hard to bark yourself out of that situation.

IDENTIFY A SHELF OR SPACE

Identify a specific place in the freezer where you can store your pupcakes.  Again, behind the ice cream is my go-to place to hide mine.  You may even try in the corner behind those frozen vegetables that your human left there months ago.  Keeping your pupcakes in a specific place also cuts down the time you spend trying to find your pupcakes to satisfy the midnight craving.

Your freezer is your best friend when it comes to pupcake storage.  It helps them last longer and keeps them fresher.  Besides who wants a stale pupcake anyway?  So, I’d love to hear from you.
