There are three reasons I love listening to music while I’m baking pupcakes in the kitchen.
TIME FLIES BY WHEN YOU’RE WOOFING YOUR FAVORITE SONG
Time flies when you’re having fun. Mainly because you’re not watching the clock. If you’re like me, you can lose all track of time while you’re woofing to your favorite song. Bonus points if you take a step back and woof a few bars into that spatula.
DANCE BREAKS ARE GOOD EXERCISE BETWEEN MIXES
Dancing is a great workout. Even if you’re weerrking that tail in the kitchen. Like they say, “A watched pupcake never finishes baking.” So, while the pupcakes are baking in the oven, I have no problem dancing around to a few songs in my playlist. It helps them get done a little quicker.
PUPCAKES TASTE BETTER WHEN MUSIC IS INVOLVED
In this kitchen, it’s all about the soul…PUPCAKE SOUL. Pupcakes always taste better when there was music playing while they were baking. That’s my story, and I’m sticking to it. Music is all about emotion and a feeling. Baking is also a feeling. So, when the two of them collide with a pupcake recipe, the rest is flavorfully legendary.
So, this year Bay and I decided to make that a part of our New Year’s Eve plans.
Last year, the squad all went to Poppy’s house to celebrate the infamous ball drop. After the year we experienced, it was good to ring in the new year with pups we love. Plus, it gave us all a chance to finally see Poppy’s new place. He purchased his first property prior to the pandemic and the pictures don’t do it justice.
However, this year we decided to do New Year’s Eve at home. Just the two of us. With all the running around we’ve been doing, it’ll give us a chance to spend some quality time together. Plus, we can spend the evening setting our intentions and goals for the new year and save a little money in the process. In the words of Wayne Dyer…
Our intention creates our reality.
One of my goals is to live, love, and laugh in the moment. I bark a lot about following your “crazy ideas” and having the courage to turn them into reality. And, I still believe those “crazy ideas” create those legendary stories. However, sometimes the craziest ideas come from being present in the moment; and from those quiet moments alone with the ones you love.
This year’s New Year’s Eve celebration is dedicated to that. I even convinced Bay to bake a few Soul Holiday Pupcakes in the kitchen with me to celebrate those new intentions. Consider this our own little date night in with a baking class. Baking pupcakes is always a great way to spend time with one another. Especially, when you can sneak a little dance break in the kitchen to your favorite song.
Now, I’d love to hear from you. Let’s dish.
