Sugar Gets A Good Night’s Sleep & Relaxes With These Carrot Carob Pupcakes

Carrot Carob Pupcakes Holiday Dog Treat Recipe

When it’s time to go to bed, I like the room to be completely dark.

I can’t sleep unless it is.  Something about the dark room and silence makes my sleep more peaceful and comforting.

One night, I was laying in my bed drifting off to sleep.  Mom was laying in hers scrolling through her phone. I could literally see the blue light flickering every time she hit the screen.  I thought for a moment, “maybe she’ll get sleepy and finally put that phone down.”

Well, that didn’t happen.  One minute went by.  Then five minutes.  Then 10. I guess it’s easy to get lost in that phone screen of hers.  However, after 30 minutes, I had had enough.  I was ready to go to sleep and had enough of that phone light keeping me awake.

So, I climbed out of the comfort of my warm bed and hopped onto Mom’s bed.  I then kindly took my paw and hit the screen.  Mom laughed, until I hit the screen again signally that it’s time to put that phone away.

Mom took the hint well.  She turned off the phone, I hopped back down to my bed to fall asleep and got ready for whatever dreams were waiting for me.  In the words of Mesut Barazany…

Your future depends on your dreams. So go to sleep.

I don’t know about you, but winter weather always manages to drain my energy.  It’s cold, the days are shorter and the nights seem longer.  I have days when I’m tired all of the time.  So, when I finally do get in the bed, I don’t want to be interrupted by some flickering blue light.

Sleep is very important to our minds, bodies and souls.  It also helps you ignite your creative energy and makes you more productive during the day.  Ever notice how much you get accomplished when you’re not tired or fatigued? So, I encourage everyone to get the proper sleep that they need and find a sleep routine that works best for you.

Every human (and pup) is different.  I found that I sleep better when the room is completely dark.  Longer walks and exercise help me sleep better as well.  I’ve also noticed that Mom doesn’t use her laptop in her room anymore.

When you’re goal oriented, sleep can become an added luxury.  So, I encourage you to find ways to get the best sleep for you.  It’ll help decrease those winter blues, reduce your stress levels and give you the energy to go after your ambitions.

These Carrot Carob Pupcakes are dedicated to getting a good night’s sleep.
