The One Major Way to Stay Organized & Win Pup-dulting in the New Year

I don’t mean to brag.  Ok, maybe a little.  But, I’m finally winning this pup-dulting thing.

Let me break it down.  My pup self-care routine is on point.  Shout out to all my #PupSelfCareSunday lovers out there.  I finally got my financial plan in order and am able to save a few nudges in the bank each month.

Even looking at my calendar has become more exciting.  Not only do I have some great pup business opportunities coming up, but my pup social life is making a comeback.

Plus, I got seven hours of sleep last night.  Hey.  I’m grateful for the “small” pup-dulting wins too.  However, the most important win in this game of pup-dulting life…

I finally organized my screenshots.

No more pawing through my phone searching for that screenshot I took three months ago.  No more trying to remember what pics surround the pic I’m actually looking for.

And, no more cringing when some nosy pup decides to take her paw and start swiping instead of staying on the one pic you wanted her to see.  Mind your pup business, Sis. Believe me…

Organizing my screenshots has been the pup self-care experience I didn’t even know I needed.  My phone even feels lighter.

Who knew that a little screenshot decluttering could spark so much joy? So, in honor of joy, peace of mind and winning this millennial pup-dulting game, here are five tips to help you organize your screenshots.

GET COZY WITH PUPCAKES & CHILL

The best thing about decluttering your phone is you can do it while you’re lounging around in your comfy clothes, favorite cozy socks and indulging in some amazing Peanut Butter & Strawberry Jam Pupcakes.  No cleaning products.  No lifting any heavy boxes of kitchen materials I don’t use anymore.  And, no getting rid of piles of forgotten papers hidden in some random corner.  Most of us spend time pawing through our phones anyway when we’re sitting on the couch, watching TV and enjoying the fact that we have a little free time before our humans get home.

START WITH OPERATION DELETE

As you’re pawing through all of those screen shots, delete all the ones you can’t remember.  How many of us have taken a screenshot and thought, “I’ll come back to this later?”  Only to forget it ever existed and wonder why we needed that screenshot in the first place.  So, if you don’t remember why you took the screen shot or, better yet, don’t even remember taking the screenshot in the first place, get rid of it.  Especially, if the date stamp is several months ago.  No need in organizing anything you don’t need.

CREATE MEANINGFUL ALBUMS

After you successfully complete “Operation Delete,” it’s time to start organizing.  Those screenshots that made the cut obviously mean something to you.  So, create albums on your phone (my advice is no more than ten) specifically for these screenshots.  Give them names that are creative, funny, inspirational or even some sort of cryptic code.  Whatever you name them, they should be meaningful to you and give you a little context as to what screenshots are actually in them.

FOLLOW INSTA-SHARE RULE

I’m definitely guilty of screenshotting some pic, meme, comment, etc. I’ve seen on Pupsta-gram just so I can text it straight to my BFF’s.  I’ve also been known to take a simple screenshot of some information I got from Moogle just to use as a quick reference.  However, it’s not like I need to hold on to these screenshots forever.  I almost always forget about them instantly, and they end up taking up too much space on my phone.  So, I’ve learned to delete these screenshots immediately after use.  This way I don’t have to be bothered with going through “Operation Delete” more than once.

SNAP AND STORE

I can’t tell you how many screenshots I’ve taken as a resource in my journey.  I’ve screenshot kitchen supplies, design patterns and information about pup business conferences I can attend.  I can even remember the random time I took a screenshot of some puppy’s toy because it gave me an idea for a pupcake recipe.  The point is, all of these screenshots were important and useful.  So, I’ve made it a habit to store my important screenshots in one of my albums immediately after taking them.  This way my references are easy to find, and I can still feel like I’m winning this pup-dulting game like a boss.

We all have ways that we are winning at pup-dulting.  In fact, we’re all probably doing a lot better than we give ourselves credit for.  So, I’d love to hear from you.

What’s one thing that’s helped you win in pup-dulting?  Nothing’s too big or too small.  A win’s a win.
