Sugar Expands Her Network & Shares These Banana Strawberry Oatmeal Muffin Pupcakes

Homemade dog treat recipe for Banana Strawberry Oatmeal Muffin Pupcakes

I’m going to be absolutely honest right now.

Solo pup business ownership is not as easy as it looks on Pup-stagram.

For years I would admire pup business owners and their Pup-stagram photos.  In so many ways, the #pupbusinesslife seemed to be chic, calm and full of exclusive experiences.  From the pics from creative conferences to the cool hashtags to the successful pup business owners posing together the pup business ownership life seemed like the life for me.

Even fancy aerial shots of a pups’ notebook and peanut butter muffin on a marble café table looked chicer than the view at my cubicle desk at Scent Magazine.  I couldn’t wait to start my journey.

However, there was one thing I didn’t realize while admiring those Pup-stagram posts and figuring out my pup business venture idea.

Pup business ownership is not only hard work, but it can get really lonely.

I didn’t realize that behind every one of those Pup-stagram photos were late nights and early mornings.  There are minutes (sometimes even hours) of angling, editing and reediting to get the perfect picture.  There are hours of brainstorming, planning and strategizing content for your pup business that no one sees.

And not to sound all pessimistic, but those Pup-stagram photos don’t capture those moments when you’re suffering from pup F.O.M.O. because you stayed home to complete a project for your business while your pup friends went to hang out.

Honestly, that pup F.O.M.O is probably the hardest to handle in my pup business ownership journey.  While all of my pup friends were out “living their best lives,” I was home developing pupcake recipes.  When my pup friends were spending their bonus on some exotic trip, I was spending my bonus on building my brand.

And, although my pup friends thought starting my business was cool, there were times where (although they tried) they just couldn’t understand all the emotions a pup business owner goes through.  The moments when you feel absolutely brilliant and the moments you feel, for a lack of a better word, that you suck.  The moments when you’re trying to strategize how you’re going to start a whole business without your human finding out.

Really, how many pup business owners do you know that are starting a pup business right under their human’s nose?

There were times when the loneliness and isolation started becoming too much.  Then I saw a quote by Amy Poehler that put things into perspective.

Find a group of people who challenge and inspire you, spend a lot of time with them, and it will change your life.

So, I decided to do something about this lonely solo pup business ownership bubble I was living in.  One day while pawing through the internet, I found an article about a pup business owner incubator program.  The program was specifically designed for pup business owners to connect and network with each other.  The program also offered resources, pup business owner learning workshops and special events to help pup business owners get their pup businesses up and running.

I knew this incubator program would be a perfect way to surround myself with pups that can relate to this journey.  It would also be a good way to gain some ideas, inspiration and resources that I just wouldn’t be able to find on the internet.

So, that’s why my advice is to always find a way to connect with other like-minded pups.  It not only gives you access to information, but also helps you meet pups willing to support you through your journey.

These Banana Strawberry Oatmeal Muffin Pupcakes are dedicated to figuring out this pup business ownership journey one step at a time.

And of course, we believe that every pupcake has a love story.  So, while your favorite pup is PUPPY LOVIN’ on these pupcakes, we’d love to hear from you.
