Sugar Gets Creative With These Broccoli Ginger Peanut Butter Pupcakes

Healthy homemade dog treat recipe for Broccoli Ginger Pupcakes With Peanut Butter Cream Frosting

There’s no greater feeling than leaving the spa with a fresh new hairstyle

Any pup will tell you, walking out of the spa with a fresh wash, cut and fluff brings out an extra burst of confidence.  Honestly, no pup (or human for that matter) can tell me any different.  It doesn’t matter if all eyes are on me.  In fact, I encourage it.

I look forward to my spa days.  Every other week, you can find me in the spa chair getting my fur done.  And if I’m headed to a special event, best believe I’m taking a trip to the spa as well.  So, needless to say, spa appointments are always in the budget.

You see.  I was born with a lot of fur.

It’s thick, curly, full of beautiful texture and, most importantly, it’s strong.  Believe me.  My fur has definitely worn out several grooming combs.  My fur also grows constantly.  So, if I don’t cut it from time to time, it’ll get longer and longer.  It’s definitely poodle fur at its finest, and I’m proud to rock it.

However, when you’re as busy as I am, it’s difficult to set aside three hours every week to simply groom your fur.  Washing, cutting and fluffing can be a lot to handle on my own.  Especially, if you’re an amateur groomer like me.  I’ve had several frustrating experiences when my fur hasn’t come out the way I wanted it, and have had no time to fix it.

So, going to the spa on a regular basis is my way of reclaiming my three hours back.  I also know that my fur will also turn out the way I want it to.  I go to the spa so regularly, that I literally have a standing appointment each time.

That’s why I panicked one day when my appointment was cancelled due to a big snow storm.  Now, I get it.  No one should be trotting along in the snow just to get their fur fluffed.  However, this cancellation became another arrangement I had to make that I hadn’t intended.

During the upcoming week, I had a huge Pupcake Sugar presentation and soft launch I was planning.  Pups were coming from all over the city, including media, to get an exclusive look at the boutique pupcake bakery and spa I had been working so hard on.

There was no way I could stand in front of a room full of pups to tell them how wonderful our spa services with my fur looking like I slept on it.  What pup would want to visit Pupcake Sugar then?  I know I wouldn’t.  Honestly, I guess that’s what I get for planning an event like this in the middle of winter.  However, as Debbie Allen stated…

But out of limitations comes creativity.

And, that’s what I decided to do.  I used my limited resources and got creative.  Instead of standing in front of the pups in the room to give them a formal presentation of all the wonderful services Pupcake Sugar had to offer, I revamped my entire event to be a Pupcakes & Peek

Pups would not only be able to sample some of our pupcakes, but also sample some of our services as well.  I asked one of the “pup-fessors” that’ll be teaching nutrition to give a sample demonstration for pups called What Not to Eat.  I set up pup massage stations for the pups to get a massage and there was even a chance for pups to take a Doga class.

However, the biggest demonstration was the grooming station.  Pups could check out our grooming products as well as see a live demonstration of a pup getting her hair done.  And, that pup was me.  Sitting front and center with several pups watching on, I enlisted the help of one of my future spa groomers to groom my fur.

This event was an awesome experience.  The pups loved the Pupcakes & Peek and I even got my fur groomed.

I’ve also learned as a pup business owner that many times you don’t have all the resources you need, especially when you’re starting out.  However, you have to use those limited resources to make things work.  It’s a part of the game.  You’ll be surprised what creative things you come up with.

These Broccoli Ginger Pupcakes With Peanut Butter Cream Frosting are dedicated to using your own limited resources to make things work.

And of course, we believe that every pupcake has a love story.  So, while your favorite pup is PUPPY LOVIN’ on these pupcakes, we’d love to hear from you.

Have you had to get a little creative due to limited resources?  What genius idea was sparked by your creativity?
