“Accidents happen little one. But there’s always a solution to clean it up.”
Mistakes Happen at Sugar’s Pupcakery
As a pupcakepreneur, Sugar learned early that mistakes happen. Like last week. Sugar order raspberries for a new pupcake recipe she wanted to bake for her pupcakery grand opening. The vendor delivered blueberries instead.
“What the bark am I supposed to do with these?” Sugar woofed. “I gotta get these pupcakes baked today.”
In the past, Sugar would’ve whined about the issue. However, she had a pupcakery to open and a business to run. So, she decided to “turn peanuts into peanut butter” like her mama taught her. Sugar created a new pupcake with those blueberries right on the spot.
Sugar’s Puppies Visit the Pupcakery
Mistakes are a part of a dog’s life. They’re not always convenient, but they help us learn. So, Sugar teaches her puppies the same thing. In fact, if it wasn’t for those blueberries, those Mama’s Pearl Pupcakes might not have ever existed.
The other day, Sugar took her puppies to the pupcakery to get taste one of the pupcakes and let them see the new space for the first time.
Her puppies had so much fun sitting in the booths, walking around the kitchen, and waving at the other dogs walking by through the window. They were even more excited when they got to take one of the pupcakes home to eat.
When they got home, Sugar’s puppies raced to the kitchen to eat their pupcakes. One of her puppies, Okra, rushed to take her pupcake out of the box. Like most puppies, she was so excited to eat that she couldn’t sit still. So, Okra danced around the kitchen while she shoveled that pupcake in her mouth.
Then suddenly, “Plop!” Okra’s pupcake slipped out of her paws and fell onto the floor on Sugar’s new rug.
Drop It!
Okra stood there in shock with her mouth wide open. “My pupcake!” She whimpered. Sugar turned and looked down to see Okra’s pupcake smashed right into her new rug.
Okra reached down, stuck her paw in her fallen pupcake, and attempted to eat some of the smashed crumbs she picked up from the floor. “Okra, drop it!” Sugar barked. “Don’t eat that!” Okra whined, “But it’s mine.”
Sugar kneeled to console her. “Accidents happen little one. But there’s no need to keep pawing at our mistakes. Let’s clean this up.”
Sugar stood up and grabbed her cleaning spray and a rag out of the cabinet. She then instructed Okra to pick up the big pieces and put them in the trash. Sugar then sprayed the solution of the rug to wipe up the stain. “See.” Sugar barked. “Now, you try.” Sugar handed Okra the rag for her to try wiping up the stain.
Every Mistake Has a Lesson
After a few seconds, the stain was gone. “So, what did you learn?” Sugar asked Okra. “Well…”. Okra barked. “I learned how to clean a rug. But I still didn’t get to eat my pupcake.”
Sugar smiled at Okra. Then she got up from the floor and grabbed a pupcake off the counter. She knows that her puppies can be messy. Especially, when they’re eating. So, she brought a few extra pupcakes home with her from the pupcakery…just in case.
Sugar passed Okra one of the extra pupcakes she grabbed from the counter. “Now.” Sugar barked. “Let’s try eating this one at the kitchen table.” Sugar then grabbed Okra’s paw and escorted her to the table.
