How to Handle Quarantine P.M.S. Like a Boss

How to Handle Quarantine P.M.S. Like a Boss

Is anyone else feeling the “How to…” Overload?

What’s “How to…” Overload?  It’s that moment you realize that every “How to…” article sounds exactly the same.  Or, the instant you realize that your Moogle searches are producing the same articles.

You know what I’m woofing about.  “How to Transition Your Home into an Office.”  “How to Dress for Your Next Zoom Meeting.”  “How to Create Your Own Facial at Home.”  It’s like the world of social distancing has sent the world into “How to…” do anything at home into overdrive.

I know.  I know.  I’m guilty of jumping on the “How to…” bandwagon as well.  How could I really call myself a pup blogger if I didn’t produce at least one “How to….” article every once in a while?

But, has anyone written a “How to…” article on getting through P.M.S. (Pup Moodiness Syndrome) when you’re stuck in the house due to a quarantine?

I can’t go to the spa to relax and get a new hairstyle like I usually do.  Making my way to get a paw-dicure is out of the question.  And since the pup world has gone virtual, putting on a nice outfit and hitting these pup streets for girls’ night out is out of the question.

So, rather than complain, I decided to create my own answer.  In the words of John Lennon…

There are no problems, only solutions.

Just ask all the “How to…” article writers out there.  And in order to avoid, bombarding you with “How to…” Overload, we’ll call these tips my favorite ways.  So, here are 4 of my favorite ways to handle P.M.S. with the things you have right in front of you.  They may even work when this pup quarantine is over.

BECOME A PUP FASHIONISTA

When I’m working from home, the last thing I want to do is walk around my home in my favorite outfits.  Give me my pup-jamas and my cozy socks any day.  However, when P.M.S. hits, everything is magnified about my looks.  My fur doesn’t look right.  Everyone on Pup-stagram is more “fly” than me.  And, I feel like one big blob of blah.  Any other pup feel this way?  So, my solution is simple.  I’m walking around the house in my “flyest” clothes.  Something about putting on my favorite outfit automatically changing my mood and how I see myself.

WATCH SOMETHING THAT GIVES YOU ALL THE FEELS

Those P.M.S. moments when I feel like I want to cry are never my favorite.  One minute I’m happy and laughing and the next minute I’m tearing up some random PetSmart commercial.  And honestly, we all need a good cry every now and then.  So, turn on a movie or show that brings out the emotions.  Not only will you get a good cry, but you’ll also be able to add one more good show or movie to your Pup-flix favorites list.

PUNCH A PILLOW

P.M.S. can be a very emotional time for any pups out there.  My mood can change in an instant.  And, there have been moments when some pup or something has ticked me off.  There are also times when I feel a bit overwhelmed.  I usually take those emotions out at the gym, but right now that’s not an option.  But, I have found that hitting a pillow a few times does help.  And, if I need to release a little more steam, jumping on the bed for a few minutes also helps.  Bet you haven’t done that in a while.  Try it.  I’ll bet you it works.

INDULGE IN A FEW PUPCAKES

Duh.  Did you think I was going to forget about my beloved pupcakes?  These Carob Pupcakes With Carob Peanut Butter Cream Frosting always make me feel a little better.  And, since I always have a few pupcakes in the freezer, I don’t have to make any from scratch.

P.M.S. is no joke.  Especially, when you’re stuck to a house all day.  And, while a virtual spa day with your BFFs is great.  Sometimes it’s just not enough. So, I’d love to hear from you.

How are you keeping calm during this quarantine situation?
