Why I Didn’t Treat Myself to the Shoes

Why I Didn't Buy The Shoes

There’s this pair of shoes that’ve been sitting in my cart on the Canine West website for two months.

I’ve gone to hit the purchase button so many times.  However, as soon as I get to the final screen I think “where am I really going to wear these” and decide to cancel my order.

Don’t get me wrong.  I’m that cliché pup that loves a new pair of shoes.  I have a close full of them. But, I’ve spent the bigger part of the year wearing cozy socks and work from home attire.  I don’t really need a new pair of shoes.  In fact, I got rid of a lot of them because I barely wore them before this year.

This time last year, I would’ve bought those shoes without a second thought.  You know the phrase.  #TreatYoSelf.  Wait…is that still a thing?  Whether it is or it isn’t, “treat yo’ self” has taken on a whole new meaning this year.

A few weeks ago, I got a bark from my BFF Ginger telling me that Bruno Paws is holding his first drive-in concert.

I was beyond excited.  I live for concerts and haven’t been to one all year.  Plus, after spending months on virtual catch sessions, I could really use some real-life quality time with my loves.  There’s only so many pupcake recipes I can try at home.

Bruno Paws is one of my favs.  A few years ago, my BFFs and I snuck out of the house to see him live.  It was a “crazy idea,” but the stories from that one night are endless and still keep us howling.  So, I’m down for relive the Bruno Paws experience with a modern-day social distancing twist.  It’s true what they say…

Live for the moments you can’t put into words.

So, when it came down to purchasing some new shoes or a ticket, I chose the latter.  Bruno Paws, my BFFs and a chance to car dance at my first drive-in concert was the move.  Those shoes from Canine West were gonna have to wait no matter how great that discount and deal on free shipping is.  This “treat yo’ self” investment is priceless.  But I’d love to hear from you.

What is your favorite priceless “treat yo’ self” moment?
